Spanish voiceover

about spanish language

In terms of native speakers, it’s the second biggest language, after Chinese. Almost 400 million people speak it, it’s even more popular than English! It’s the official language in 21 countries, it’s spoken by about 40 million people in the USA alone! It’s official language in 4 continents. Only 10% of Spanish speakers live in Spain. Most of them (a quarter) lives in Mexico. Spanish is the first “modern” European language that had printed grammar. It’s interesting that they put the exclamation- and question marks at the beginning of the sentence too, upside down. Why? Many times, the only thing that differs in a statement and a question is the intonation. There are a thousand irregular verbs in Spanish, and it is the fastest language in terms of syllables per second. Especially the Castilian. Mexican, for example, is slower and more melodic. This is the third most common language on the Internet. 8% of the vocabulary is taken from Arabian. Some words can’t be literally translated into English. For example, the word „empalagarse”. It means to get sick from a food that is too sweet… (This means that an English text translated into Spanish will be longer in a voiceover.)
