Czech voiceover

about czech language

It’s one of the hardest European languages. About 13 million people speak Czech. Its closest relative is Slovakian and Polish. Slovakians easily understand Czechs. There was an attempt to create a “Czechoslovakian” language, but the Slovakians resisted. This means that while Czechoslovakia still existed, the official languages were Czech and Slovakian. The Czech spelling was the sample for every Slavic language with a Latin alphabet. Actually, the word “robot” is a Czech loanword. It’s originated from the word robota, which means forced labor, Karel Čapek used it first in his play called R.U.R in 1920. In the play, the robots revolt against humanity. In reality, the word was created by his brother, Josef Čapek.
